ModelMayhem.com is a website I used to use quite a bit for arranging shoots with models when I was in the south Florida region. One girl I had met, lived in Boca Raton as well, and we would try and shoot whenever our schedules allowed. Most of the time the shoots would get planned an hour or two before they actually took place. This shot was taken on a random Tuesday afternoon with an hour’s notice in the front yard of a house across the street from her boyfriend’s house. For this shot I wanted to compress the space of the gates and garden and background shed and had positioned myself a far distance from her using my 100-400 zoomed in. The day was perfectly overcast and gave a beautiful flat light even in heavy foliage. Knaj and I shot together a little over half a dozen times in the course of a 3 month period before I relocated back to Canada. Knaj was one of my favourite models to work with as there were always a lot of laughter. She was the little sister I never had and I am grateful to have spent the time working with and getting to know her. The people I have met over the years while traveling around taking pictures and doing my artwork, have allowed me to grow in ways I never imagined.
